Webster Springs Vol Fire Department along with Cowen VFD responed to a fully engulfed structure fire on Black Hawk Drive in the Boliar area. Departments were toned at 7:45amunits were enroute to the call @7:52POV unit on scene with and update of structure with full base fully engulfed.Webster Memorial EMS and Engine 11 on scene@8:02am The fire had to be fought with exterior attack, there were no injuries reported The home was a total loss,all units cleared the scene @ 10:51am.

Dave Berry has passed away.Dave was a fire fighter for 66 years and our Fire chief 62 years. he will be sorely missed at Station 1. From all your Firefighters and Station 1 R.I.P. Chief. WSVFD was toned for a Technical Rescue @ 9:49 am near 3925 Elk River Road in Webster Springs, approximately 8 miles down.The call came in as a man down unknown age, injuries or the condition of the patient. At 9:51 am, WSVFD St. 1 Squad 1, Rescue 1 and WMEMS Medic 101 were en-route to the call. Medic 101 was on scene @ 10:05 and @ 10:07 St 1 units all on scene.Units on scene found a 70's male who had fallen about 10-12ft. off a rock wall onto a very rocky river bank where the patient was working on anchoring a swinging bridge when he lost his footing.Fire and Ems units worked together using water rescue equipment and a John boat to complete the rescue. Medic 101 transported the patient who was believed to have non-life threatening injuries. All personnel cleared the call @10:40.

Webster Springs Vol. Fire Department was toned for a 2 story dwelling structure fire in city limits today. Units arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the basement of the dwelling. Occupants of the residents was helped by neighbors to exit the structure. Electrical is believed to be the cause of the fire..
